SHAKIRA - SHAKIRA THRILLED WITH COLOMBIAN CHARITY SUCCESS

Colombian pop princess SHAKIRA's proudest boast is the foundation she set up 11 years ago to help her country's poorest kids. The pop superstar's Pies Descalzos charity - named after her first album - has raised $4 million (GBP2.2 million) since it started in 1995, and that money has been used to build schools and feed and educate almost 4,000 Colombian kids. She says, "When I see healthy kids instead of hungry faces and empty tummies, I realise I've made a difference and that I have to keep doing more every day."
