GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL - SHAKIN' STEVENS LOOKING FORWARD TO GLASTO

SHAKIN' STEVENS has said he is "very pleased" to be performing at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The singer, sometimes tagged 'The Welsh Elvis', said he was thrilled at the prospect of playing the biggest festival in Britain.

Furthermore, he reckons he can change the opinions of festivalgoers, who may already think they know what to expect from the Green Door star.

Speaking to the Guardian yesterday (June 19th) , he said: "People have got a preconceived idea of what I look like, what I perform and what my shows are all about.

"I can understand that, because all they can refer to is Top Of The Pops. But those who come to my shows know better."

In related news, it has been reported that AMY WINEHOUSE is still hoping to play the festival after she collapsed at her London home earlier this week.
