SETH ROGEN: DRUG SCENE WAS CUT FROM PINEAPPLE EXPRESS

A drug-dealing scene from new comedy Pineapple Express has been edited for the UK, Seth Rogen has claimed.

The chart-topping stoner film sees Rogen as marijuana smoker Dale Denton who witnesses a murder and is forced to go on the run with his drug dealer Saul Silver (James Franco).

And according to Knocked Up star Rogen, a scene in which his and Franco's characters sell drugs to school children has been edited for UK audiences.

"In the American version of the scene we also smoke weed with them and hang out," he told BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme.

"It's a really explicit scene of us getting high with these 11-year-olds. I think for the UK they've kind of softened it a bit."

The 26-year-old actor added that he did not feel the film's content was unsuitable for the US, where it has an R rating.

"We had no moral obligation with this movie. I mean it's an R-rated movie, you have to be 17 in order to see it so we figure at that age you're an adult

"I've been seeing R-rated movies since I was 12 years old and I'm OK! Not really."

Pineapple Express, rated 15 in the UK, is released on September 22nd.
