Quick-thinking security guards saved FOO FIGHTERS star DAVE GROHL from an onstage attack at the Austin City Limits music festival in Texas on Sunday night (28Sep08) when they wrestled a fan to the ground..
Grohl's rockers were headlining the last day of the weekend festival when an audience member clambered up onto the stage and ran towards the singer.
Initially startled, Grohl played down the drama by telling the crowd, "He's just a drunken college dork. I've been there," after security staff had tackled the stage invader.
Oasis were forced to scrap a series of concerts in North America and Europe recently when guitarist Noel Gallagher suffered injuries from a stage attack in Toronto, Canada.

I would never consider hurting anybody!! I was up there for a handshake, and a drunken hoot! Not every American is a dangerous criminal folks. It was a festival! Cut me some slack!

This article is BS. I was there, and very, VERY close. Don't make it sound like it was a big thing. The guy did not get anywhere near being on stage. The stage had a 4 1/2 trussing for video cameras, and then another 5 ft to the top of the stage. No way in hell someone would have been able to just jump up there. How about some truth in reporting. Nice try though....
