British pop star SEAL may have to pay up to $1.95 million (GBP1 million) to his former manager JOHN WADLOW after losing an appeal to pay commission from his first two albums. The KISS FROM A ROSE singer, 43, challenged a London High Court ruling from last June (06), which stipulated Wadlow was entitled to unpaid commissions from the sales of SEAL (91) and SEAL II (94). Seal, real name HENRY OLUSEGUN ADEOLA SAMUEL, told the High Court that he paid Wadlow $7.8 million (GBP4 million) in 1995 when the two parted ways. Earlier today (28FEB06), three judges at the Court of Appeal in London agreed with the previous ruling that the management agreement signed by the two parties meant Wadlow was entitled to $975,000 (GBP500,000) commission from the albums. Samuel, husband of supermodel HEIDI KLUM, had claimed the agreement should be void because Wadlow had used "undue influence" on him to sign it. They also ordered Samuel to pay Wadlow's legal costs.
