JAMES FREY - SCOTT CREDITS SHAMED AUTHOR FOR HELL'S ANGELS FILM

Shamed American author JAMES FREY has won praise from director TONY SCOTT for helping him bring HUNTER S THOMSON's book HELL'S ANGELS to the big screen. Frey, who confessed earlier this year (JAN06) to duping readers by embellishing his life story in harrowing biography A MILLION LITTLE PIECES, has saved Scott's film project by reworking the screenplay and now the movie has been greenlighted after 12 years. Scott explains, "I've owned the book now for 12 years. I've had three screenplays written. The last screenplay was written by James Frey and he's the real thing, so, for the first time, he brought it to life."
