CELIA CRUZ - SALSA STAR DELGADO DEFECTS

Salsa star ISSAC (corr) DELGADO has defected to America from his native Cuba in an effort to boost his international career. The 44-year-old bandleader is a superstar in Cuba, where his 1999 rendition of CELIA CRUZ's LA VIDA ES UN CARNIVAL was a huge hit. According to billboard.com, Delgado moved to Tampa, Florida last year (06). His 11-piece band, ISSAC DELGADO Y SU ORQUESTRA (corr), has reportedly stayed in Cuba, changed its name and has a new singer.
