SALMA HAYEK - SALMA HAYEK ENGAGED AND PREGNANT

Mexican beauty Salma Hayek is engaged and expecting their first baby, the Academy Award-nominated actress has revealed.

The Ugly Betty actress and producer announced her engagement to the billionaire businessman through her publicist over the weekend.

Francois-Henri heads the Paris-based company PPR which specialises in luxury brands such the fashionista's favourites Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.

"Francois-Henri Pinault and his fiancé, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child," spokeswoman Ina Treciokas said in a brief statement.

And it seems that this could be all the information the 40-year-old Frieda actress and her partner will reveal as her publicist insisted that no other details will be revealed by the couple, including when the bouncing bundle will be born or when the pair will wed.

Salma dated Fight Club star Edward Norton for four years and was also romantically linked to the actor Josh Lucas.

Her new movie, Across the Universe, sees Salma act alongside a bizarre cast including U2 singer Bono, British comedian Eddie Izzard and rocker Marilyn Manson's alleged new beau Evan Rachel Wood. Set in the 1960s, the psychedelic musical shows the turbulent years of anti-war protest.
