MEG RYAN - RYAN: 'QUAID WAS NOT FAITHFUL'

MEG RYAN has opened up about her 2000 marriage break-up in a candid new magazine article, revealing her ex-husband DENNIS QUAID's infidelities became apparent after they divorced.
Private Ryan and Quaid have refused to divulge the details of their split, which shocked Hollywood eight years ago, but now the actress once dubbed 'America's sweetheart' is talking to InStyle magazine about the dark days that followed her divorce.
She tells the upcoming October (08) issue of the publication, "Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time, and that was very painful. I found out more about that after I was divorced."
The When Harry Met Sally star was blamed for the break-up of the marriage - after she appeared to be romancing Russell Crowe, but she insists the tabloid scandal wasn't what it appeared to be - and her former beau, Crowe, took too much blame.
She adds, “I think he took a big hit, but Russell didn’t break up the marriage. He was definitely there at the end, but it wasn’t his fault. I was a mess. I hurt him too at the end. I couldn’t be in another long relationship, it wasn’t the time for that. So I got out."
Eight years later, she's upbeat about the hit she took as her marriage fell apart: “My time as a scarlet woman was really interesting. As painful as it was, it was also incredibly liberating. I didn’t have to care about what people thought.”
