RYAN O'NEAL DENIES DRUG POSSESSION

LATEST: Actor RYAN O'NEAL has hit back at Los Angeles law officials who've charged him with felony drug possession - insisting the paraphernalia found in his home belonged to his son.
The actor and his 23-year-old son Redmond were arrested at their Malibu, California home last month (Sep08) after police discovered narcotics on Redmond's person and in Ryan's bedroom during a raid.
Redmond was also charged with two misdemeanour counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanour count of illegal possession of pepper spray, according to TMZ.com.
O'Neal's lawyer Mark Werksman tells the New York Daily News: "The drugs in the house were Redmond's. They weren't Ryan's. He doesn't use drugs. This is really painful for him. Dealing with Redmond's addiction has been the bane of his existence. Ryan is very upset about this, as you can expect."
But Los Angeles Country's District Attorney spokesperson Sandi Gibbons adds: "We would not have filed the charges if we did not think the evidence supported them."
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on 13 November (08).
