TODD RUNDGREN - RUNDGREN SLAMS 'GREEDY' LED ZEPPELIN
Singer-turned-music producer TODD RUNDGREN has hit out at LED ZEPPELIN's decision to reform for a second time - insisting frontman ROBERT PLANT is only doing it for the money. The group reformed for a one-off concert in London in December (07) but announced on Wednesday (06Feb08) plans to headline the 2008 Bonnaroo Arts and Music Festival in the U.S. Rudgren, who played at Britain's legendary Knebworth festival with the rockers in 1979, is convinced Plant is enjoying collaborating with Alison Krauss and doesn't have any real creative need to continue with his old band. And Rudgren is convinced it was the promise of a large financial reward that tempted Plant back to Zeppelin. He says, "Robert Plant will probably always have a gig somewhere. And the only reason for him to reunite with the Led Zeppelin thing is because it would just be huge money involved, I guess. "But he has an opportunity to play music that he feels like. Some music that he may feel actually more akin to than what he's, I guess, 'obligated' to do at this point with Led Zeppelin. "Everything that he did after he left Led Zeppelin was an octave lower (than the Zeppelin songs). And now he's got to go back and sing and scream at the top of his lungs."

todd never calls zepplin "greedy" nor does he slam them!
read the article people!
It's not a slam to Robert PLant, Firstly, the article was obviously written for shock
value, it really doesn't even relate to what Todd says, secondly, The writer of the
article states that LED ZEPPELIN Is headlining the bonnaroo fest (or whatever it's
called) Not Todd(So open your eyes Mr. zoso)Thirdly and most importantly, I think
Todd was respectful in what he said. He says he beleives Robert is enjoying himself
singing songs he enjoys singing with his project with Alison Krauss and suddenly
someone dangles the carrot in front of his face. The money and the pressure from the
other members sort of takes him from his enjoyment to screaming out songs that he
can no longer sing. I've heard the reunion show and I don't think he sounded very
good. He didn't sound into it and stayed away from the high notes for the most part. He
can't scream anymore and hasn't been able to since his 30's so age is not a factor.
