KAISER CHIEFS - RONSON'S BIZARRE RECORDING METHODS WITH KAISER CHIEFS

THE KAISER CHIEFS were left stunned after a recent studio session with MARK RONSON - because the producer forced them to wear sunglasses while recording.
Ronson employed several unconventional techniques while recording the LP, and the rockers have promised their efforts will sound "weird" as a result.
Frontman Ricky Wilson explains to Britain's NME magazine, "We did things we'd never done before, like being in the same room doing vocals, shouting at each other - in a nice way."
Drummer Nick Hodgson adds: "Mark's main thing is songs. He's old-fashioned, (famed producer) Phil Spector-style. Sometimes he'd make us all wear sunglasses in the studio!
"I know it sounds stupid, but we did (new track) Good Days Bad Days and wearing sunglasses on it gave it a really different vibe.
"That's as much production as clicking the space bar on (music recording software) Pro Tools!"
And singer Wilson insists he was happy to comply with Ronson's bizarre methods - because they helped the I Predict A Riot hitmakers regain their original sound.
He adds: "It's good we've got our weirdness back - like we had right at the beginning."
Off With Their Heads, the British band's third studio album, is slated to hit shelves in October (08).
