RICHARD GERE - ROMANTIC RESTAURANT TABLE NAMED AFTER GERE

Veteran actor RICHARD GERE has had the most romantic table at a New York City restaurant named after him, in honour of his days as a bachelor. SHAMSHER WADUD, owner of the new Nirvana 54 restaurant on West 54th Street, decided to pay tribute to Gere by giving the most hidden table in the venue his name. Wadud tells website PageSix.com that in his single days Gere would arrive at the original Nirvana eaterie on Central Park South with two women and enjoy a "romantic time". He adds, "Richard would drink only champagne with the Indian food and always paid his tab in cash."
