THE WHO - ROGER DALTREY: 'JACK BLACK IS LIKE ELVIS'

THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY is begging JACK BLACK to quit acting and become a full-time rocker - likening the TENACIOUS D frontman to ELVIS PRESLEY.
Daltrey is in awe of Kung Fu Panda star Black, after the funnyman joined Pearl Jam and The Flaming Lips to honour The Who at last weekend's (12Jul08) Rock Honors event in Los Angeles (08).
The bands all performed a string of The Who covers at the third annual bash, which pays tribute to groups who have influenced the sound of rock music.
But Black stood out - and Daltrey is convinced he has missed his true vocation.
The 64-year-old rocker gushes, "He should have been a rock star. When you look at Jack Black, whatever he's doing... it just always reminds me of that first initial feeling I had when I heard Elvis Presley singing Heartbreak Hotel."
Rock Honors airs on VH1 on Thursday (17Jul08).
