ROD STEWART - ROD STEWART SET FOR 'MILLION DOLLAR GIG'
Veteran rocker Rod Stewart is being lined up for a million dollar gig, according to reports.
The Scottish crooner has been offered the cash, worth more than £500,000, in return for just one hour's work at billionaire Steve Schwarzman's 60th birthday party.
Schwarzman, chief executive and founder of the Blackstone Group, is a financial wizard whose investments and business nouse have netted him a fortune, making him one of America's richest men.
Now the tycoon is lining up Rod for his lavish birthday party which will cost around £2.5 million.
A source close to the singer told the Sun: "Rod will be flown in for the night with all expenses paid. He will perform all his old favourites. The set will last an hour."
The performance at the party, scheduled for February 13th, echoes a number of similar performances in recent years by high-profile names.
George Michael netted a reported £1.5 million for a private gig for a Moscow-based billionaire, while Robbie Williams was also said to have picked up £1 million for a performance at a city broker's birthday party in the south of France.
