KEITH RICHARDS is a secret skiier, after learning the sport during two long winter spells at a drug clinic in Switzerland.
The Rolling Stones guitarist decamped to the Alps at the height of his drug addiction in the 1970s to clean up and get healthy. And he passed time by heading for the piste.
Richards reveals, "You try living in Switzerland for two bloody winters. You almost go bananas, because it's sheer gloom.
"And suddenly someone says, `Up there, there's bright sunshine and loads of things happening. All you've got to do is put these silly things on your feet.'
"I started out on the nursery slopes and four-year-olds were going by me, going, `Ha ha ha ha.' But in two weeks... baby, I'm rocking down the moguls (bumps) and ending up at the bar, having a snifter (drink)."
