NICOLE RICHIE - RICHIE + MADDEN CHARITY DRIVE A BIG SUCCESS

New parents NICOLE RICHIE and JOEL MADDEN are celebrating after raising $10,000 (GBP5,400) towards a $35,000 (GBP18,900) kids playground in just a week.
The couple launched the Text CHILD to 90999 campaign, as part of the Richie-Madden Children's Foundation, at the beginning of last week (beg15Sep08) and they're almost a third of the way towards the goal already.
The money from the initiative will help fund a state-of-the-art playground for kids at the Beyond Shelter in Los Angeles.
Almost 2,000 fans and parents have donated the required $5 (GBP2.70) after texting the campaign.
