DENISE RICHARDS - RICHARDS AND SAMBORA FACING CANCER TORMENT TOGETHER

Denise Richards has said that she and her boyfriend of ten months, Richie Sambora, have been finding support from each other during tough times.

The Hollywood actress' mother has cancer while musician Sambora's father also has the disease.

As well as helping their parents, the pair are also both going through divorces.

Speaking to People magazine at a fashion show in Hollywood yesterday, Richards said: "It's hard. Thank God Richie and I have each other not only to go through divorce, but to go through both our parents being ill."

Fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been campaigning for cancer charities and centres following a number of deaths from cancer in her family and it seems that Richards is following suit.

The Blonde and Blonder actress is currently helping to raise money for Houston's MD Anderson Cancer Centre, which is treating her mother and Sambora's father.

But despite the trials she is facing, Richards told the magazine that she is "really happy".

"I'm just taking one day at a time in my life," she added.

Sambora and his estranged wife Heather Locklear split last year while Richards' divorce from Charlie Sheen was finalised last November.
