GUY RITCHIE's REVOLVER has flopped at the US box office.

Despite being re-edited especially for the American market, the film has taken under £40,000 ($75,000) in its first 12 days of release.

Celebrity columnist Roger Friedman said: "It's the same amount of money Madonna spends on, let's say, mascara."

He added that REVOLVER is "a terrible film" that had been "roundly panned" by reviewers.

"Guy Ritchie may be a lovely person, for all I know, but a great director he is not," he added.

The crime thriller was released in the UK in 2005 to a less than enthusiastic audience.

It was given a limited release in US cinemas.

Ritchie's next film is ROCKNROLLA. The Russian gangster movie will star LUDACRIS, GERARD BUTLER and GEMMA ATHERTON, who can currently be seen starring as the head girl in the new ST TRINIANS film.

Meanwhile, a track from Guy's wife MADONNA's new album was leaked by collaborator TIMBALAND.

The producer played FOUR MINUTES TO SAVE THE WORLD, which also features JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, at the Jingle Ball in Philadelphia.

It was recently revealed that the CONFESSIONS ON A DANCEFLOOR singer will be inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

It will take far more than a re-edit to make Revolver into a good film....
