MEL GIBSON - REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE DROPS GIBSON ENDORSEMENT

The Republican candidate in the upcoming California lieutenant governor election has dropped a fundraising letter written by MEL GIBSON from his campaign. TOM MCCLINTOCK, the state senator for Thousand Oaks, made his decision to stop sending a three-page letter composed by Gibson in the wake of his anti-Semitic outburst following his drink-driving arrest last month (28JUL06). MCClintock's spokesperson STAN DEVEREAUX says, "Tom saw the news and the situation as it was unfolding with Mel Gibson and made a conscious decision to direct people not to use the letter any further. "He was disillusioned by the situation with Mr Gibson."

Good for Tom McClintock! He is good for California and has my vote!
Ever since I read of McClintock's letter delivered to attendees at the recent
(somewhat) Republican gathering in Southern CA, in which McClintock accused
any/all of "not being a real Republican" unless they support
Schwarzenegger...well, dunno, but McClintock seems to me to be a contrary
person.
Here's this guy promoting a liberal Democrat as a Republican, trying to naysay
potential conservative and Republican support, shame them for being
conservative and perhaps resenting the Democrat as Republican candidate...I'm
glad I supported Bill Simon and concluded that the GOP in CA has lost it's
mind. I think McClintock just sounds like an all 'round snippy, temperamental
guy.
I'm curious if McClintock ever told Gibson, "thanks." He sure has time and
effort enough to tell him to get lost.
