REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE DROPS GIBSON ENDORSEMENT
The Republican candidate in the upcoming California lieutenant governor election has dropped a fundraising letter written by MEL GIBSON from his campaign. TOM MCCLINTOCK, the state senator for Thousand Oaks, made his decision to stop sending a three-page letter composed by Gibson in the wake of his anti-Semitic outburst following his drink-driving arrest last month (28JUL06). MCClintock's spokesperson STAN DEVEREAUX says, "Tom saw the news and the situation as it was unfolding with Mel Gibson and made a conscious decision to direct people not to use the letter any further. "He was disillusioned by the situation with Mr Gibson."

Is there anything cheesier, or sleazier, than someone who is so desperate for a
little ch$nge that they are willing to try to hawk stuff on a comment line?
Geez, why not try to sell life insurance to your mother's friends? Or schedule
one of those cruises where everybody else pays, and the organizer gets to go
along for free.
Even Mel Gibson doesn't do that!
As a general rule, I usually label politicians gutless and cowards. But after
Gibson's rant, can't blame the guy for not wanting Gibson's endorsement.
Mel's got a lot to prove before I am willing to simply give him a pass. He
really disappointed me.
