TOM CRUISE - REPORT: OSCAR TO TWIT REDSTONE

Tom Cruise will present ex-Paramount Chairman Sherry Lansing the annual Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award during Sunday's Oscars telecast, L.A. Weekly columnist Nikki Finke disclosed Thursday. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had previously not announced this year's recipient of the honor. Finke pointed out that the presentation is likely to cause a stir among the industry audience since both Lansing and Cruise were booted out of Paramount by Sumner Redstone, chairman of parent company Viacom. "Trust me, Hollywood is going to get a kick out of this, even if the folks watching at home may not understand its significance," Finke commented.
