RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS + GUESTS TO PLAY FUNDRAISER

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are playing a Los Angeles fundraising gig on Saturday (05May07), which aims to bring music into the lives of local children.
The Give It Away rockers, who hail from L.A., will be joined by Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder and other guests at the Henry Fonda Theater show.
The concert is raising money for local non-profit organisation the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music, which was co-created by bass player Flea. Students from the conservatory will also perform at the gig and proceeds from it will go towards scholarships and enlarging a summer camp project.
Flea, real name Michael Balzary, admits he's always trying to highlight the need for music in schools after returning to his alma mater, Fairfax High in West Hollywood, and learning they no longer had a music programme.
He says, "I did band, choir, everything, but when I went back to the school years later I found out the programmes were gone. I was shocked. I decided on the spot to do something."
