THE CULT - RED DWARF STAR ARRESTED AFTER THREATENING BINMAN WITH KNIFE

An actor form the Red Dwarf television programme has been arrested after reports he threatened a binman with a knife.

Daniel John-Jules, 47, who played the Cat in the cult TV show, was arrested in north-west London on Friday morning.

A Metropolitan police spokeswoman said that they had been contacted at 08:54 GMT, regarding an altercation and a man being threatened with a knife outside a residential property in Whitmore Gardens.

Ambulance crews and police officers attended the scene and a man, believed to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

The spokeswoman confirmed that a 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released on bail until April 8th.

Mr John-Jules has appeared regularly on BBC One's children shoe M.I.High as well as the CBeebies series The Story Makers.

In 2002 he appeared in Guillermo de Toto's Blade II alongside Wesley Snipes and Ron Perlman.
