STAR WARS - R2-D2 INSPIRES POST BOX DESIGN

Beloved STAR WARS droid R2-D2 is to be turned into a post box in cities across the US. The little robot that could has inspired a new futuristic design on mail collection boxes - to commemorate the 30th anniversary of moviemaker GEORGE LUCAS' sci-fi epic. The US post office is wrapping mail boxes in 200 cities nationwide in a special covering - so they look just like R2-D2. The robot post boxes will coincide with a new Star Wars stamp, which is to be launched later this month (MAR07).
