Movie star DENNIS QUAID has quietly bought 500 acres (202.3 hectares) of Montana countryside from his famous dead neighbours.
The actor first bought a home near Yellowstone National Park in 1978 when he was 24, and he has since bought property once owned by actor Warren Oates and moviemaker Sam Peckinpah.
His sprawling estate now includes bridleways, rolling fields and a three mile (4.8 kilometres) stretch of his own private creek.
Of his retreat, Quaid boasts, "I can walk out my door and walk about 100 miles without crossing a road."
