PULITZER PRIZE WINNER FOR SPIDER-MAN 4?
Pulitzer prize-winning writer David Lindsay-Abaire is in negotiations to pen the fourth instalment of the SPIDER-MAN franchise.
The playwright, who won the notable accolade for his 2007 drama Rabbit Hole, is in talks with Columbia about creating a new script for the superhero series.
It is expected that stars TOBEY MAGUIRE and KIRSTEN DUNST will return as well as director SAM RAIMI.
However, any details of the plot are being kept well hidden.
Producer Laura Ziskin has revealed that SPIDER-MAN fans can expect a May 2011 release for the new film.
Abaire is currently writing the book and lyrics for the Broadway musical adaptation of the hit film SHREK.
Previous writers of the SPIDER-MAN films include Alvin Sargent and another Pulitzer prize winner Michael Chabon.
It was recently reported that actress ELIZABETH BANKS has expressed uncertainty about returning for the fourth SPIDER-MAN film.
Speaking at the junket for her latest flick ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO, the starlet, who plays Betty Brant in the films, said that if her role was very small she probably would not take it on.
