PRINCE 'TO PLAY LA RESIDENCY'
Pop superstar Prince is set to play a seven-week residency at the Los Angeles Roosevelt Hotel.
According to the Los Angeles Times, pending contract negotiations, the Purple Rain singer will play seven Friday-night performances as part of a dining and musical experience.
Special guests will join the musician as the hotel closes off its lobby area at 21:00 and gives itself over to a Prince concert from 23:30 until the early hours.
The reports come hot on the heels of Prince's landmark London tour announcement which will see the singer play a record number of arena shows.
Overall, Prince will play 21 dates in the capital, breaking the 14-night residency record put on at one arena by Pink Floyd.
Fans who buy a ticket for the 3121 tour will also get a copy of Prince's new album, also called 3121, as well as only paying £31.21 no matter where they buy a ticket for.
At one point the ticketing agency dealing with the tour, AEG, was selling 1,000 tickets per minute.
The star last released a studio album in 2004 during a prolific career which has seen the release of hundreds of songs as well as collaborations and tracks written for other artists.
