PRINCE HARRY - PRINCE HARRY HONOURED FOR AFGHANISTAN SERVICE

British royal PRINCE HARRY has been honoured for his army service in Afghanistan, after receiving a medal from his aunt PRINCESS ANNE in a special ceremony in London on Monday (05May08).
The 23-year-old prince, who is a lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, joined 170 of his fellow comrades at the Combermere Barracks in Windsor, where he was presented with the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan.
Prince Harry's deployment came to an abrupt end earlier this year (08) when a number of international websites leaked the news of his service in the war-torn country. His service, which lasted 10 weeks, was shrouded in secrecy after the British government issued a media blackout on the situation to avoid any potential kidnap plots involving the young royal.
The prince, who is third in line to the throne, struggled to retain his composure as Princess Anne pinned the medal to his uniform. His girlfriend Chelsy Davy and older brother Prince William were also in attendance and looked on as a grinning Prince Harry accepted his honour.
