PRESIDENT GADHAFI FINANCES MOVIE

Libyan leader MOAMMAR GADHAFI is moving into the movie business - the president is financing a new film about the Italian occupation of his country. Gadhafi is putting up $50 million (GBP25 million) for Dhulm (Years Of Torment), about the Italian occupation of Libya from 1911 to 1943. The movie will be directed by Syrian filmmaker Najdat Anzour, reports Daily Variety. Anzour says, "The film is being made in the spirit of reconciliation and dialogue and because we need to remind people about Libya's history. "President Gadhafi wants to do something for his country. This won't be propaganda. The film will focus on the ordinary people."
