ELLEN POMPEO - POMPEO WEDS IN LOW-KEY CEREMONY

GREY'S ANATOMY star ELLEN POMPEO has married her fiance CHRIS IVERY in a low-key ceremony in New York. The actress wed record producer Ivery on Friday (09Nov07) - one day before her 38th birthday - at Manhattan's City Hall, with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg serving as their witness, according to reports. A spokeswoman for Pompeo says, "They are over the moon." And the nuptials were so secret, Pompeo's own father only found out about the wedding when she phoned home after the ceremony had taken place. But Joseph Pompeo insists he isn't upset by his daughter's decision. He tells People.com, "I'm very happy for her." Asked why the actress chose to marry on that particular date, he replied, "(I have) no idea. You'll have to ask her. She just didn't want a big thing." The couple became engaged in November (06) after dating for three years.
