SYDNEY POLLACK - POLLACK TO TACKLE FLORIDA RECOUNT SAGA

Oscar-winning filmmaker SYDNEY POLLACK will direct a new movie based on the controversial Florida vote recounts in the 2000 US presidential election. The film, RECOUNT, explores the behind the scenes drama and power struggles of the month-long saga which preceded GEROGE W. BUSH being sworn in as President of the United States. Producer PAULA WEINSTEIN says, "I feel that the script is extraordinary, and we have the perfect director in Sydney Pollack. "Nobody would be able to deal with complexity of the issues and the dramatic twists and turns of the story with honesty and truthfulness better than Sydney."
