BRAD PITT - PITT'S PINK HOMES FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS

BRAD PITT has helped build a better future for the residents of New Orleans, Louisiana who were left homeless by Hurricane Katrina - by providing the city's poorest with 150 pink-painted houses. The Fight Club star vowed to help the thousands of families left stranded without shelter after the catastrophe shook the city in 2005. The Hollywood hunk fell in love with New Orleans - dubbed The Big Easy for its laidback atmosphere - after he worked on new movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button there. He subsequently bought a family home in the city for him, his wife Angelina Jolie and their brood of children. And the 44-year-old states he chose the vibrant colour to signify the city's glimmering future - after raising $10 million (GBP5 million) for the project as part of his Make It Right Scheme to rebuild the city. He says, "The heart and soul of New Orleans are paramount to this project."
