PILOTS CREATE MAGIC AT HOUDINI MANSION
LATEST: The reformed STONE TEMPLE PILOTS performed together for the first time since splitting in 2002 at illusionist HARRY HOUDINI's spooky Los Angeles mansion on Monday (07Apr08).
The rockers, fronted by former Velvet Revolver star Scott Weiland, played a short set at the Hollywood Hills location, where the band once shot their unreleased video for Creep, to announce their summer (08) reunion tour.
Industry insiders and lucky fans were treated to renditions of STP classics like Big Empty, Interstate Love Song and Vasoline.
The group will head out on a large-scale, 65-date North American tour, beginning with an appearance at the Rock On The Range festival in Ohio on 17 May (08).
The reunited rockers have also launched a new website and fan club.
Weiland was kicked out of Velvet Revolver at the end of last month (Mar08) after a series of hostilities with his bandmates.
The supergroup, featuring former Guns N' Roses bandmates Slash and Duff MCKagan, plans to continue with a currently unnamed new singer.
In a RollingStone.com online poll over the weekend (05/06Apr08), fans voted former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell the favourite to take over from Weiland.
