REGIS PHILBIN - PHILBIN 'RECOVERING WELL' AFTER SURGERY

LATEST: US TV veteran REGIS PHILBIN is "recovering well" just a week after undergoing a triple heart bypass operation. The talk show host was admitted to the Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City on 14 March (07), but earlier today (23MAR07) took time to contact his co-host on LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY, KELLY RIPA, to inform viewers he is on the mend. Seventy-five-year-old Philbin conceded he is in pain following the surgery - especially when he sneezes - but remains positive he will soon make a full recovery. He says, "Well, you know, I think I'm through the worst of it. I guess I was a little unprepared for, you know, the first week and what they actually do to make this thing happen - and so, some of it came as quite a shock. "Other than that, I'm dancing, I'm having fun. Last night I was yelling - I'm a little embarrassed to tell you this - but I was yelling, 'I haven't had sex in three and a half months!'"
