PEGG'S FILM TOPS U.K. BOX OFFICE CHART
British funnyman SIMON PEGG'S new film HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND ALIENATE PEOPLE has stormed to the top of the U.K. box office in its opening weekend.
The movie, which also stars Megan Fox, took $2.13 million (GBP1.15 million) to cement its place at the top.
Action thriller Taken debuted at number two, bringing in $2.02 million (GBP1.09 million).
Last week's number one, Tropic Thunder, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black, was pushed down into third position with $1.83 million (GBP987,191).
Rounding out the top five was Abba musical movie Mamma Mia! with $1.43 million (GBP771,647) at four and in fifth place with $828,909 (GBP448,059) was Jason Statham's remake of Death Race, which has dropped one place.
