BILL PAXTON - PAXTON BRIBED PSYCHO DIRECTOR

Actor BILL PAXTON was so keen to land the role in PSYCHO lll, he bribed ANTHONY PERKINS with chocolates and a personalised card. Paxton admits he brought gifts to his audition for the 1986 film in hope of persuading the director and casting crew to hire him. But his charm failed and the gifts were rejected. He says, "I came very close to Psycho lll. It was just before Mother's Day and I sent Anthony Perkins a box of chocolates with a Mother's Day card that said, 'To Mrs Bates, in care of Norman Bates'. He got a big kick out of it, but I didn't get the part."
