Opera legend Luciano Pavarotti has died, his manager has announced. He was 71.

The death of Italian opera star LUCIANO PAVAROTTI is to be commemorated in a series of events around the world next month (Oct07).
Pavarotti, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 71 on 6 September (07), will be remembered in concerts and exhibitions set to begin on 6 October (07) - exactly one month after his death.
Italian foreign ministry officials will stage the tributes at over 90 of the country's cultural centres, scattered around the globe.
The purpose of the events, which include a photographic exhibition in New York, is "to bring the most important moments of Pavarotti's international career to the largest public audience possible", according to a government statement.
