PAUL SIMON'S TEENAGE SON RECORDS FIRST ALBUM

PAUL SIMON's son ADRIAN is rapidly following in his father's footsteps - the 15 year old has finished recording his first album with a band of New York high school friends.
The eldest son of Simon and Edie Brickell has formed The Ivy League with pals Alex Beer, Dan Hockstein and Drew Abramowitz after meeting at school - the same way Paul Simon met longtime singing partner Art Garfunkel.
The band has built up an army of fans, after posting videos and tracks online and performing low-key gigs in the New York area.
And now they are preparing to release their debut album, The North Star, online in September (08).
Frontman Adrian is no stranger to fame - he has been writing his own songs since the age of nine, and has appeared with his father on numerous occasions; he can be heard singing a background melody he wrote on Simon's 2002 track Father and Daughter - and he also joined the Simon + Garfunkel star on his Surprise tour, singing and playing keyboard.
Adrian is also following in the footsteps of his elder half-brother, Harper Simon, who performs in the group Heavy Circles with his stepmother Brickell.
And neither Simon sons are alone in the world of offspring pop stars - Bob Dylan's son Jakob, Bob Marley's sons Ziggy and Damian, Billy Joel's daughter Alexa Ray, and Phil Collins' son Simon are among the in-vogue kids of rock and pop legends currently recording new albums.
