PALIN RAPPED IN TV ROW

MONTY PYTHON star MICHAEL PALIN has been caught up in a row over his BBC TV show NEW EUROPE - the series has been criticised for allegedly failing to check facts.
The actor-turned-travel show host fronts the TV programme which sees him visit over 20 eastern European countries.
But the show came under fire from viewers claiming an episode about the 1990s Balkan War gave an inaccurate representation of the conflict.
And the programme has now been criticised by the BBC Trust's Editorial Standards Committee (ESC) for "oversimplifying" the events.
A statement from the ESC reads: "It (the ESC) would remind BBC management of the need to ensure that every effort is made to make certain that facts are thoroughly checked, so as not to mislead the audience and to meet the BBC's obligation on impartiality."
