YOKO ONO - ONO'S EX-DRIVER SEEKS BAIL

LATEST: The lawyer representing YOKO ONO's former driver yesterday (20DEC06) filed papers in a New York City court seeking his client's immediate release from jail.
KORAL KARSAN, 50, is accused of threatening to release embarrassing tape recordings and candid photographs of Ono, the widow of JOHN LENNON, and of threatening to kill her unless she gave him $2 million (GBP1.03 million).
On Tuesday (19DEC06), he was indicted on a charge of first-degree attempted grand larceny and refused bail after being deemed a potential flight risk due to his Turkish immigration status and foreign ties.
However, defence lawyer ROBERT GOTTLIEB yesterday argued Karsan is a low flight risk.
Karsan could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted, writes the New York Post.
