OASIS 'ALMOST SPLIT'
Noel Gallagher has been talking of how close OASIS came to splitting toward the end of the 1990s.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, the guitarist and songwriter said they were seriously considering folding the band and continuing under a different name.
"We had a serious discussion after Bonehead and Guigsy left: 'Should we fold this now and just go under a different name?' We were seriously thinking about it," Gallagher said.
However, he went on to say that the new members of the band soon put paid to any ideas of a name change.
"When Gem and Andy joined they were like: 'F*ck that, we want to be in 'Oasis'! We don't want to be in 'Sweaty Bogeys' or anything like that
!' And it was like: 'You've got a point!'"
The Manc legends have continued their unbroken run of number one records, going straight to the top of the album chart with their latest release DIG OUT YOUR SOUL.
