PAOLO NUTINI - NUTINI THANKS WINEHOUSE FOR BIG BREAK

Scottish singer PAOLO NUTINI has thanked AMY WINEHOUSE for giving him his big break three years ago (04). The 20-year-old New Shoes singer was a struggling musician three years ago when Winehouse invited him to open for her when she played a Scottish gig. He recalls, "Three years ago, Amy invited me to open for her when she played Edinburgh Venue as part of the Festival Fringe. "I was still a schoolboy and just turned up - with Jim Duguid from my group - and we played an acoustic set. "I went down an absolute storm but I don't even think Amy would even remember it." But Nutini can now remind her of their first encounter as he's supporting the British soul sensation when she tours America later this year (07).
