NEW INJURY MAY FORCE SUZANNE SHAW OFF DANCING ON ICE
Suzanne Shaw may be forced to withdraw from ITV's Dancing on Ice show after fracturing her left ankle in practice.
The ex-Hear'Say singer landed awkwardly during rehearsals on Saturday and aggravated a previous injury.
Shaw was taken to Barnet General Hospital where an X-ray showed that she had suffered an avulsion fracture, involving a chipped bone, in her ankle.
A spokesperson for ITV said ahead of tonight's show: "We have a responsibility to ensure that all the celebrities are fit to perform and Suzanne will only take to the ice if the physio gives her the go-ahead before the show."
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Shaw said: "The pain is excruciating worse than giving birth. But I really want to go on.
"I've worked so hard and the idea of letting my partner Matt down now is terrible. We've put in so much work and got this far. We can't stop now," she said.
"When I landed I knew something was wrong it felt like an electric shock through my ankle.
"I was close to tears. This could mean I'm out of the show. I was having such a great week and I had a horrible feeling something was going to happen."
On Friday, Shaw cut her skating partner, Matt Evers, just below the right eye when her skate blade struck him in the face.
