EDDIE VEDDER, SONIC YOUTH, JACK JOHNSON and WILLIE NELSON are among the stars who have contributed covers of BOB DYLAN songs for a new movie centred around the legendary rocker. Director Todd Haynes' I'm Not There sees six different actors, including Christian Bale, Richard Gere and Cate Blanchett, playing Dylan at various points in his career. For the soundtrack, artists including The Hold Steady, Mark Lanegan, former Pavement frontman Stephen Malkmus, Calexico, Yo La Tengo and Dylan himself have all recorded songs taken from the 66-year-old's back catalogue. Five songs on the double album soundtrack, out later this year (07), feature backing from The Million Dollar Bashers, a supergroup featuring Sonic Youth stars Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Dylan bassist Tony Garnier, guitarist Smokey Hormel and keyboardist John Medeski.
