MURRAY THANKS STARS FOR US OPEN SUCCESS

WILL FERRELL and the cast of hit TV show ENTOURAGE inspired British tennis star ANDY MURRAY to win his US Open semi-final against RAFAEL NADAL.
The star-struck 21-year-old spotted the celebrities in the crowd at New York’s Arthur Ashe stadium on Saturday (06Sep08), as he roared to a two-set lead against the Spanish world number one.
When rain forced the game to spill over into Sunday (07Sep08), Murray used the stars to spur him on to finish off Nadal in four sets.
He says, “This is my favourite tournament.
“I had the guys from Entourage, which is my favourite show, and Will Ferrell, who’s my favourite comedian, watching yesterday. You don't get that at home.”
Murray will compete against Roger Federer in the final on Monday (08Sep08). If he wins, he will become the first British male to win a grand slam tournament since Fred Perry in 1936.
