MEL B - MURPHY FAN ABUSE PUTS BROWN UNDER POLICE PROTECTION

Former SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN is reportedly under round-the-clock police protection after suffering harassment from EDDIE MURPHY fans following her traumatic split with the actor. The British singer, who is five months pregnant, is receiving verbal abuse from a group of Murphy fans standing outside her rented home in Los Angeles. Brown and Murphy started dating in June (06), but the Hollywood star cut all ties with her last month (DEC06) and is now demanding a DNA test to determine whether he's the father of her unborn baby. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Her life is being made intolerable by Eddie's fans camped outside. They shout insults and give her abuse all the time. "The police have decided to place an officer outside to keep an eye on things."
