Eighties rockers DURAN DURAN persuaded acclaimed DJ MARK RONSON to remix their classic hits in an unconventional way - they asked his mum ANN's permission.
The Girls On Film hitmakers were desperate to work with the superproducer, famed for his work with British singer Amy Winehouse, and asked his mum to try and tempt her talented son to update their 1980s tracks.
The British group have been friends with Ronson's parents, socialite Ann Dexter-Jones and music manager Laurence Ronson, and used their connections to land recording time with the Valerie hitmaker.
The band's bassist John Taylor says, "We've known Mark's parents for years and we talked to his mum Ann about this idea."
Ronson and the pop group have teamed up to work on a set for the Smirnoff Experience show on 2 July (08), which will incorporate songs they reworked. They'll premiere the finished product at Paris' La Cigale.
