Actress SAMANTHA MORTON is to hold an auction in celebration of what would have been MARILYN MONROE's 80th birthday - because she feels a strong link with the screen legend. The MINORITY REPORT star is currently playing Monroe in new movie MR LONELY, and she relates to the SOME LIKE IT HOT beauty's sense of insecurity as they both suffered unstable childhoods. She says, "Marilyn, like me, was brought up in foster care, so I knew what it was like not to feel safe and secure." The proceeds from the Forever Marilyn auction (23OCT06) will be donated to Save The Children's Rewrite the Future campaign.

Samantha Morton? Get out of here! I am waiting to turn on my computer in the morning and, bang--reading that Dame Edna, Elizabeth Taylor (who went blnod a few years ago) or maybe even Mel Gibson feel a "strong bond" to Marilyn! Nothing against Samantha; I think she is a great actress and was really good in "Welcome To America" and really perfect for "Minority Report", but I am sorry: Marilyn? We have to imagine her with a wig--does it work? We will see... And the other thing is: Where were all these so called "celebrities" when Marilyn Monroe needed their help? What happened to their "strong bond" when the ugliest tour de shame with ugly underpants almost took off to screw the world! It is still happening. People crawling out from the woodworks, almost daily--to link their "childhood" and their afterlife to Marilyn. How about a little respect for a change. The latest star in this fraud on Marilyn is the dreadful Dolores Hope Masi. She is opening tomorrow night her fake collection--with many items for sale of course, to the paying public in Las Vegas, Nevada. Disgusting. Please email this woman (Masi) and tell her to give it up. Read more about this woman on my blog:http://blog.ourmarilyn.com/
