DUDLEY MOORE - MOORE'S LAST WORDS SAVED FOR MINNELLI
Late British actor DUDLEY MOORE saved his last words to declare his love for close friend LIZA MINNELLI.
Moore, who died of progressive supranuclear palsy in 2002, aged 66, starred opposite Minnelli in the 1981 comedy ARTHUR and its 1988 sequel.
And despite having difficulty speaking, funnyman Moore managed to utter his final words to Minnelli.
She says, "I talked to him the day before he died. Because I knew he could hardly speak, I launched straight in. 'Hi Duddies,' I said, and then I started gabbling away and joking with him, trying to make him laugh.
"In a heart-rending broken whisper, he said: 'I... love...you.' It was the last thing, I was later told, that he ever said. He died the next day."
