MANDY MOORE - MOORE STRUGGLED WITH DEPRESSION

Singer/actress MANDY MOORE was shocked when she found herself suffering from depression for no apparent reason. Just weeks after her ex-boyfriend ZACH BRAFF admitted he suffered from mild depression, Moore has revealed she also struggled with the blues. She tells American publication Jane, "I'm a very positive person, and I've always been glass-half-full. So it was like someone flipped a switch in me." Moore, 22, and Braff, 31, split last year (06), but she insists the separation did not trigger her depression, but may have made it worse. She says, "The break up added to what I was going through, but it's not the complete reason. It definitely doesn't help if you're already in that place." Moore has been working on new songs, which she says suit her newly reflective mood. She adds, "Writing has been really therapeutic. These little nuggets that have come up over the past eight months have made me look at things in a different way."
